A 50 year old Peshastin man was arrested Thursday in connection with several recent burglaries in the area. Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett says detectives, officials with the Chelan County Regional SWAT team and Columbia River Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the four thousand block of Highway 97, Blewett Pass. He says officers found items stolen from numerous locations over the past year or two. He says the SWAT team was called in because the suspect was reputed to have and carry weapons. Burnett says Jeffrey L. Rieker was taken into custody without incident, charged with possession of stolen property. Burnett says Rieker was also charged unlawful possession of controlled substances, marijuana, hasish and methamphetamine, and other charges. Burnett says during the search, officers were able to locate more than 20 thousand dollars in stolen property, which they were able to return to the owners. He says due to the volume of property and number of potential victims, it's hoped the continuing investigation will clear up additional burglaries and property can be returned to the rightful owners.
