Washington State Patrol Troopers are hoping to avoid a repeat of the last holiday weekend, when lots of people going up to ski at Stevens Pass parked along the shoulder of State Route 2. Lieutenant Kandi Patrick says congestion and parking were so bad that DOT plow trucks or emergency workers would have had a difficult time getting through the congestion. With snow expected this weekend in the mountains, that could pose a problem. Patrick says troopers will be out enforcing laws referencing parking on the shoulders of the highway. She says vehicles, except for emergencies, that are parked along the side of the road could get a 124 dollar ticket and be impounded.
