The Chelan County PUD is expected to "up" the rates on water and waste water by six-percent starting April first.
PUD commissioners say input from the public is needed before the hike in water costs happen.
The rate increase is part of the PUD's long term Strategic Plan for financial stability.
Revenues from the increase in rates would cover the infrastructure and operational costs of the sewer and water systems that cover a large rural area in Chelan County.
The rise in cost will impact residential water customers using 75-hundred gallons per month increasing the household cost of $2.95 per month.
Those using the PUD sewer system in Peshastin...Dryden and Lake Wenatchee would pay an additional $3.50 per month.
The PUD will seek input from the public during a meeting 5:30p.m. February 6th at the PUD auditorium in Wenatchee and another public meeting will take place on February 8th at the same time at the PUD offices in Leavenworth.
A a public meeting will be held one last time Monday... March 5th at 1p.m. in the PUD boardroom in Wenatchee.
