The Chelan County PUD doesn't want you burning a hole in your pocket when trying to stay warm this winter.
PUD Conservation Program Administrator Susan Gillen says PUD customers use two to three times more energy during winter months.
Gillen lists the ways on how to save coin while staying cozy, "check for air leaks around windows, doors or plumbing," said Gillen, "if you do feel cold air you can add weather stripping or caulking."
Gillen says another thing you can do to save energy is replacing your furnace filters once a month.
The PUD's website suggests that you lower your thermostat at night or when you are not at home and close your drapes to retain heat.
