An early morning structure fire in Malaga Saturday claimed the lives of an elderly couple. Mike Burnett, chief of Chelan County Fire District one says crews responded to the 39 hundred block of Dixie Lane around 4-15am. The single story home was heavily damaged in the two alarm blaze. Burnett says although crews got to the scene within a few minutes, they were unable to make interior attack on the fire. The home was fully involved when crews arrived. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
