MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK, Wash. (AP) - Officials say the search for four overdue climbers and campers on Mount Rainier will resume Sunday, weather permitting.
Mount Rainier National Park spokeswoman Patti Wold says a team of 26 rescuers on Saturday scoured areas of the mountain.
The Tacoma News Tribune says the search is set to resume Sunday and an Army Reserve Chinook helicopter is on standby to help if conditions improve Sunday.
Rangers say the two groups are equipped and hopefully have dug in to wait out the storm, but they could be getting low on supplies. They began their trips nearly 10 days ago.
The missing campers are 37-year-old Mark Vucich, of San Diego, and 30-year-old Michelle Trojanowski, of Atlanta. The climbers were identified Friday as 52-year-old Sork "Erik" Yang, of Springfield, Ore., and Seol Hee Jin, of Korea.
