A 37 year old man died following an early morning one vehicle accident near Bridgeport Sunday. The State Patrol reports that Serafin Marquez Chavez, hometown not immediately available, was a passenger in a car driven by 25 year old Maria Rodriguez Alvarez of Okanogan. The 1997 Ford Escort was northbound on State Route 17, a little after one a.m., when the car left the road and struck a guardrail. Chavez, who was sitting in the right rear seat, and was not belted up, was ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene. The driver and another passenger were not injured. According to the Patrol report, alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash and charges are pending.
