Communities across the state can now apply for another round of State funds that heighten safety for students walking or biking to and from school.
The Washington Department of Transportation is accepting project proposals for the Safe Routes to School Program until May 4th..
The Program develops projects that encourage more children to more safely walk and bike to school.
Coordinator Charlotte Claybrooke says the program is already having a positive impact for students in the Cascade School District in Leavenworth, and at Kenroy Elementary School in the Eastmont School District.
