As expected, the newly formed Wenatchee Transportation Benefit District board Thursday night formally established a 20 dollar car tab fee. The board is comprised of the seven Wenatchee city council members. Steve King, Wenatchee Public Works Director-Engineering, says it will take six months for the state Department of Licensing to start collected the fee. One of the projects the fee will help fund is street preservation. King says the city's street overlay projects are a little behind schedule. King estimates that the car tab fee will eventually generate about 330 thousand dollars a year.
