01/27/12 Lacy Talks PFD Plan with Fellow Mayors

East Wenatchee Mayor Steve Lacy's plan for paying down the debt at the Town Toyota Center is gaining momentum. The  Rock Island and Cashmere City Councils have agreed to put a sales tax increase before voters. .  Rock Island Mayor Russell Clark says he's also supportive of Douglas County's plan which is being considered in the State Legislature. He says it could provide some of the PFD's smaller jurisdictions with additional help.  Meanwhile, Entiat Mayor Keith Vradenburg says his city council Thursday discussed the two options and voted to go with the Douglas County Plan as the primary plan. Vradenburg tells KPQ the council agreed, with several conditions to allow the two tenths of a percent sales tax increase to go out for a vote by the people as a backup plan.   The conditions are that all parts of the plan must be legal and that Entiat would have no other financial liability.
