01/28/12 Another Special Session?

Some Republican state lawmakers say they are concerned with what they see as a lack of progress on the operating budget. 12th District Representative Mike Armstrong says to date "no real progress has been made on the budget". He says instead majority Democrats are putting its efforts into social issues such as same-sex marriage, abortion coverage and legalizing marijuana. 12th District State Senator Linda Evans Parlette says while progress is being made on other budgets, such as the capital and transportation budgets, not much progress has been made on the operating budget.  On Friday's Legislative Hotline program on KPQ, Senator Parlette said she hopes that another special session is not needed.  She says perhaps the majority Democrats are biding their time until the next revenue forecast comes out in February.  Saturday (1-28) was the 20th day of the 60 day legislative session.
