Douglas County Fire District #2 crews made quick work putting out a fire that damaged a barn in the vicinity of Pangborn Airport. Captain Jeff Stevens says crews were called to the 31 hundred block of S.E. 2nd street around ten a.m Saturday. The fire, which was contained to the barn, was apparently caused by a heat lamp. Stevens says the 20 by 30 foot structure contained several peacocks, chuckers and other small birds. None of the animals were killed in the blaze.
