Port of Chelan County Commissioners last week decided against allowing a non-profit agency to use the Pybus building and property for a fund raising event this April. According to a press release from the Port, staff expressed concerns about a public gathering at the facility in its present condition, citing safety hazards and possible construction activity. Earlier this month Port Commissioners chose a Seattle firm for architectural services for the Pybus Market development. No word yet on when development of the property might proceed.
Also from last week's Port meeting, commissioners approved a three percent cost of living adjustment for Port employees. This was the first COLA for Port employees since 2009.
