WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wild dropped the first game of a 2-game series Friday to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, 5-0. After a scoreless first period, Gabe Levin scored the first goal of the game for the Ice Dogs 53 seconds into the second stanza. Alec Hajdukovich went on to give Fairbanks a 2-goal cushion near the midpoint of the second frame on a power-play goal from the slot. Fairbanks tacked on three more goals in the third period. Steve Perry stopped all 33 shots he faced to earn his second shutout of the season. Wild netminder Robert Nichols made 15 saves but suffered just his fourth regulation loss of the season. The Wild (22-13-4) and Ice Dogs (24-9-7) will conclude this weekend’s 2-game series on Saturday. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m. Pre-game show on 560 KPQ begins at about 6:45p.m.
