A pair of public hearings are set for this week as Chelan County PUD prepares for possible water and sewer rate increases. PUD officials say sewer and water rates do not cover the full cost of providing those services. To close that gap PUD commissioners are considering raising water and sewer rates by six percent. The first meeting is set for Monday at the PUD Auditorium in Wenatchee and gets underway at 5-30. Another meeting is set for 5-30pm Wednesday at the PUD offices in Leavenworth. The final public hearing to consider the rates will be at one p.m. Monday, March 5th at the PUD boardroom in Wenatchee as part of a regular board meeting.
