The wife of a Washington State Patrol Trooper is credited with calling in a tip that led to the arrest of two people who were allegedly stealing scrap metal near Royal City. Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones says a trooper's wife saw people loading aluminum irrigation pipe into a pickup Saturday evening. She called her husband, who was on duty nearby. He arrived a short time later and detained the suspects. Two Royal city residents, both 44 years old, were arrested on theft, malicious mischief, and drug charges.
