Officials with the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival are already planning for next year's event. Thursday night Festival Administrator Darci Waterman gave the Wenatchee city council a recap of the 2012 Festival. Waterman says in part due to nice weather this year, attendance at many Festival events was up. Helping boost attendance, two new offerings. A beer garden in Memorial Park, which will be extended to four days next year, and bull riding at the Town Toyota Center. Waterman says while it's not put on by the Festival, organizers have signed a three year contract with the Town Toyota Center to put that event on during the final weekend of the Festival. Waterman told the council there's always room for improvement. One issue that's gotten a lot of negative attention is people putting up chairs along the Grand Parade route, weeks in advance.
The 2013 Apple Blossom Festival runs from April 25th through May 5th. Next year's theme is "Rock This Town".
