Rural district firefighters got a taste for what they can expect later this summer with a grass fire that scorched about 18 acres of grass and brush on Burch Mountain. Chelan County Fire District one assistant chief, Cecil McKinney says the fire had the potential for spread as the weather and fuel moistures are changing rapidly.
McKinney says no homes were threatened
The two-alarm fire rallied crews from several fire districts including the US Forest Service. The fire's cause is under investigation.
