Chelan County Commissioners Wednesday night declared an emergency after water spilling from a broken irrigation pipe took out a portion of Riviera Boulevard, located near the Three Lakes Golf Club. Lauren Rejniak public information officer at Chelan County Public Works says the damage severs the road where it comes closest to the golf course driving range.
Rejniak says the irrigation pipe was being repaired when the break took place, sending thousands of gallons of water from Lake Cortez over the roadway. She adds Riviera Boulevard will be closed at that location until late next week until repairs can be made. Access to all homes remains open.
