It appears that a proposed merger of the Wenatchee Valley Visitors Bureau and Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce is getting closer to becoming a reality. The two groups have been talking about consolidating over the past several months. From a cost benefit and economy of scale standpoint Visitors Bureau Board Chairman, Chuck Johnson says both sides see the mutual benefits. Johnson says the two groups have voted to go forward with planning for the possible merger and have hired a consultant to help in that planning effort. The Visitors Bureau board meets tonight to further discuss the issue. It starts at 5:30 at the Holiday Inn Express Chelan Room. The meeting is open to the public.
