Wenatchee-based Blodgett Construction has been awarded the contract for phase two of the Pybus Public Market project.Chelan County Port District Commissioners approved the award at their meeting this morning. Blodgett's bid of 1.46 million dollars came in about 300 thousand dollars under the Port's estimated cost.The Port's external affairs director, Mike Armstrong says the phase two work will include all of the core and shell work which was included in the Port's prefered alternative packages. . .
Blodgett Construction is currently under contract to complete the roof replacement on the historic Morse Steel building at the foot of Orondo Street along the City's riverfront.Ken Blodgett says the project timeline will probably be shortened by up to three-weeks since his company will be also be doing the phase two work
The Port District is responsible for doing the site preparation and building rehab work. When that is complete the project will then be turned over local businessman, Mike Walker who's non-profit foundation will operate the Pybus Public Market. Its scheduled to open next spring.
