Chelan County Assessor officials report that a solicitor is attempting to scam senior citizens around the state. Chelan County Assessor Deanna Walter says her office got a call from the State Department of Revenue notifying them of the reverse mortgage scam.
Walter says Clark . . .Lewis and Thurston counties have been hit hard by telemarketing calls. The fraudulent group is identifying itself as "Seniors First". Walter says you should never give out personal information over the phone unless you are certain that you have the right office and you initiated the call. If you receive these calls contact the Assessors office immediately at 667-6365 or call the State Department of Revenue at 360-534-1410.
