(AP) - The Washington Transportation Department says 67,000 vehicles a day used the stretch of Interstate 5 through Mount Vernon that is now blocked by the collapse of the Skagit River bridge. Mount Vernon is about 60 miles north of Seattle and 40 miles south of the Canada Border. 08/30/12 Man Kills Himself in Burning Vehicle

Wenatchee police say a man who's body was found inside a burning vehicle last night committed suicide. Sgt John Kruse says it happened at an apartment complex in the 14 hundred block of Castlerock Street. Authorities ruled out foul play based on interviews with family members and evidence at the scene of the fire. Kruse says it appears the man shot himself in the head after igniting a rag in the car's gas tank. He was found dead inside the car. The name of the 56 year old man was not released. Chelan County Coroner Wayne Harris reported that the death is the 18th suicide reported this year.
