An elderly Entiat woman was injured when she fell from a horse while riding in the Mad Lake area Chelan County. Sheriff Brian Burnett reports that 71 year old Linda Olin was airlifted to Central Washington Hospital with a broken arm. The Sheriff says the accident occurred around 2:3o in the afternoon but a companion had to ride by horseback for two hours to obtain cellular service. The group was camped on the edge of Mad Lake in the Entiat Ranger District. A Sheriff’s Office helicopter crew, which was already in-service on an unrelated detail, was directed to the Fish Lake airstrip to pick up a medic from Cascade Ambulance and then proceeded to the scene. Mrs. Olin was conscious upon arrival and thought she had broken her left arm when she was thrown from her horse. She was able to walk to the MedStar helicopter and was transported to the hospital.
