Firefighters continue to make good progress on the Barker Canyon Complex fires located ten miles northwest of Grand Coulee. As of last report the 91,162 acre fire was more than 79 percent contained. Fire information officers say about 100 remaining firefighters will spend today mopping up the fire. A Type 4 incident management team will take over control of the firefighting effort Sunday. The cost of fighting the fire, which started last weekend, is approaching two million dollars.
