Forceful winds knocked down trees and power lines Tuesday afternoon leaving 800 Chelan PUD customers without power. PUD Information Officer Kimberly Craig says debris was blocking the intersection of Hwy 2 and Icicle Rd in Leavenworth. Hwy 2 had temporarily closed a mile in both directions from the Icicle. Craig says the high powered winds caused extensive damage. . .
PUD officials say the power was put back for 600 customers around 6p.m. The remaining 200 had utilities restored around six this morning. The cost of the damage is unknown. There were no injuries nor damage to nearby homes.
