Gale-force winds In the Leavwnworth area yesterday knocked down trees and power lines leaving 800 Chelan PUD customers without power. A large Ponderosa Pine fell in some powerlines PUD Information Officer Kimberly Craig says debris was blocking the intersection of Hwy 2 and Icicle Rd in Leavenworth. Power was partially restored to the majority of customers within about an hour after it was first reported. Electrical service was fully restored by 9:45 this (Wed) morning. Craig also reports wind-damage to the utility's fiberoptic line which knocked out internet service to about 80 end users in the same area. She said repairs should be completed by mid-afternoon. The fiber repairs forced the temporary closure of Icicle Road. A detour is available on East Leavenworth Road.
