Media coverage of smoky skies in the Wenatchee Valley has had a big impact on Leavenworth's bottom line. Nancy Smith director of the Bavarian village's Chamber of Commerce says business for last weekend's Autumn Leaf festival was down an estimated 30 percent. She says translates to about 100 thousand dollars. Smith says the Chamber is taking steps to reassure out of towners planning on taking in Oktoberfest.
Smith says they've got lots of entertainment scheduled for festival, which kicks off Friday night.
According to the Chelan-Douglas Health District the air quality in Leavenworth Friday morning was listed as "Moderate".
