WIth the Statewide whooping cough epidemic serving as a backdrop Public Health is the focus of a conference this week in Wenatchee. Washington State's Secretary of Health Mary Selecky is hosting the event.
Selecky said on today's KPQ Morning Update that there are currently 42-hundred cases of pertussis reported around the state but that the rate of spread appears to be slowing down. Selecky says health districts across the State have addressed the problem by reaching out to those who are most at risk to vaccinate against the disease.
