10/15/12 Wenatchee School District Wins Drowning Lawsuit Motion

WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) - The Wenatchee School District has won a decision in a lawsuit over the drowning of a 14-year-old in the high school swimming pool. The district has already admitted liability in the November death of Antonio Reyes and turned down a $15 million claim from his parents. The amount of damages will be determined at a trial. The Wenatchee World reports the lawyer for the parents had asked the district to answer questions and provide documents about safety training and policies. Chelan County Court Commissioner Bart Vandegrift said the information was irrelevant and inadmissible, since liability already has been admitted.
