The gloves came off during last night's KPQ Politcal Forum when Douglas County Commission Candidate Carol Kavanaugh was questioned about her campaign financing. Kavanaugh is challenging incumbent Ken Stanton for the district 1 seat. Her opponents say her campaign has received the majority of her funding from realtors and developers. Kavanaugh tried to silence the naysayers Wednesday night. . .
Stanton countered that Kavanaugh's campaign is being fueled by a 24-thousand dollar contribution from outside Douglas County. the State Realty Association and the Affordable Housing Council.
Stanton's challenger says she wasn't the only one vying for support from the building industry . . Stanton denied Kavanaugh's claim completely . . .
Last night's candidates forum at Wenatchee Valley College was sponsored by the Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Chelan/Douglas Republican Women. Alan Walker with the United Way served as moderator.
