The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a reward of up to ten thousand dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a possible hate crime that took place in Chelan last month. Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett says on Saturday September First a rental car was damaged and defaced with racial and religious epithets. The BMW, rented by a group of Seattle area Muslims, was parked near the intersection of West Woodin Avenue and Waterslide Drive.
Ayn Sandalo Dietrich is a spokeswoman with the Seattle Division of the FBI.
She says as part of the ongoing investigation, the FBI is seeking any information that can help identify the person or persons responsible for the crime, which took place sometime between 5-30p.m. and 7-45p.m. Also, anyone who took photographs or video of the area to contact the FBI as soon as possible.
