Douglas County Sheriff's Deputies were able to recover hundreds of dollars in cash and stolen property following a theft near East Wenatchee late Thursday afternoon. Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal says a woman inadvertently left her purse in the lobby of a business in the 400 block of Highline Drive in East Wenatchee. She returned a few moments later to find the purse, containing more than 16 hundred dollars in cash, missing. Gjesdal says the investigating Deputy was able to obtain contact information on the only other customers who had been in the business. He says they were located in a room at the Cedar's Inn in East Wenatchee. A 31 year old Leavenworth man was inside the room, as was the purse. The suspect was booked into the Chelan County Jail on a charge of second degree theft.
