The Chelan County PUD settled a wrongful-termination lawsuit over the firing of two executive managers Tuesday. The PUD's legal counsel says former Operations Group Manager Joe Jarvis and Engineering and Technology Director John Smith will receive a 985-thousand dollar payout from the PUD. Fired in February of 2011. . . Jarvis and Smith sued the district under the notion that the PUD had violated their due process rights. A press release states that the two former employees were fired over their mismanagement of the utility's fiber optics system. The press release also states that the PUD admits no wrongdoing in the matter. According to the PUD . . .the fiber optics program accrued an exponential amount of debt under the supervision of Jarvis and Smith.
