TENINO, Wash. (AP) - The Wolf Haven sanctuary near Tenino provided the wolves this week for a three-day course in handling wildlife.
Under the supervision of veterinarians, students gave the wolves an annual check-up: blood draws, vaccinations and heart and body temperature measurements.
The Olympian reports that 17 students from as far away as Alaska, Pennsylvania and Mexico attended the course. It was directed by Mark Johnson, a veterinarian and founder of Global Wildlife Resources, a nonprofit organization in Bozeman, Mont.
