The Eastmont School District's four year replacement levy is passing with a 58 percent yes vote. School levies require a simple majority to pass. Superintendent Garn Christiensen says the Maintenance and Operations Levy funds about one in eight employees and pays for items that are not fully funded by the state. Three other levies on the Douglas County ballot are also passing. Douglas County Hospital District 2, the Waterville Clinic and Ambulance, is running one year excess levy that would authorize the district to levy excess taxes on all taxable property in the district in the sum of $65,000. That is easily passing with a 70 percent yes vote. The Coulee Area Park and Recreation District is running a six year levy to fund maintenance and operation of its facilities. That has a 62 percent yest vote. The Douglas County Cemetery District number 2 a one year M and O excess tax levy has a 62 percent yes tally. Again returns are unofficial until the election results are certified.
