A handful of other contested races in Chelan County. Assessor Deanna Walter has a substantial lead over challenger DeWayne Crater 76 to 24 percent. Walter was appointed to the position last year after assessor Vicki Trudell left office.
Two fire Districts are running issues with mixed results
One asked voters if the city of Leavenworth should be annexed into, and become part of Fire District 3. That's passing easily with an 86 percent yes vote.
Residents in the Chelan area are voting down a measure placed by Fire District 7 asking to lift the levy lid to increase funding by one percent. That would have the current levy of 98 cents per thousand dollars of assessed valuation go to $1.16 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation. That's failing with a 42 percent yes vote.
