One of the more hotly contested races in Central Washington was for the 12th District State Representative seat held by Mike Armstrong. Armstrong, who has served in the state Legislature since 2001, has been trumpeting his experience and seniority in Olympia.
His challenger Brad Hawkins has said its time for new ideas and a new approach.
Following election night returns, Hawkins leads Armstrong 52 to 48 percent. With a lot of ballots still to be counted, that race is still too close to call.
The other state Representative has incumbent Cary Condotta leading Chelan attorney Stan Morse with nearly 65 percent of the votes. Condotta says no matter who his fellow 12th District state Representative is, the challenge in Olympia remains the same....the budget.
