11/09/12 Wenatchee Mayor Dismisses Fox News Report on City's Finances (Audio)
Wenatchee Mayor Frank Kuntz assures resident's the City is not going broke as reported in a recent story on Fox News. The network recently included Wenatchee on its list of cities most at risk of going bankrupt. The mayor says the report based its rankings on the City's credit rating which was downgraded earlier this spring during the Town Toyota Center financial crisis. Kuntz says the story used outdated information that does not apply to the City's current fiscal health. Kuntz says the unfortunate part of the story has been its impacts on economic development. Kuntz says the City is in far better financial condition now than it was in June prior to the sale of the arena bonds. Here were the Mayor's comments on today's KPQ Morning Update . .
