Seven and a half tons. That's how much food organizers are hoping to collect Saturday to help feed the needy. Proceeds from the event, sponsored by Cherry Creek Radio and Colonial Vista, benefit Serve Wenatchee Valley. Pastor Bob Sheppard encourages people to help out.

You can help by dropping off non-perishable food, and or cash at the "Thanksgiving on the Mayflower" event from eight a.m. to five p.m. Saturday in the Albertson's parking lot in Wenatchee.
