A team of five volunteers from the Apple Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross this is helping families displaced by a multi-family apartment fire in Quincy. Director Mariah Thornock says they work with each family to assess their needs and provide immediate emergency assistance in the form of emergency housing, food, clothing, comfort kits, child care items and other basic necessities.
They will also continue to work with those families over the next few days and week, helping them develop a recovery plan. Six families, 24 people, were displaced by the three alarm fire.
