11/12/12 Eastside Car Tab Tax to get Public Hearing (Audio)

Will East Wenatchee follow Wenatchee's lead with a 20 dollar car tab tax to pay for street maintenance? East Wenatchee Council member Harry Raab says it may be unavoidable given the City's residential street needs and the absence of a dedicated source of funding.
Raab conducted a phone survey of Eastside residents which he says resulted in a majority of people supporting the new tax, if its sole purpose is for street upkeep. The City Council meets tomorrow (Tue) evening to consider the cartab tax issue. A public hearing on the matter is slated for 6:45 pm at City Hall.
