SeaPort Airline officials Friday announced the company is discontinuing service to Portland from Wenatchee and Yakima, effective December 15th. In a news release company president Rob McKinney says "Despite our efforts these markets did not meet expectations". He added it was not an easy announcement to make and thanked customers who supported them and their employees in Wenatchee and Yakima. Mark Urdahl, executive director at the Port of Chelan County says the news is disappointing and adds it's important to note the company was not subsidized in any way by the Airport.
Service to Portland began earlier this Spring. SeaPort officials say customers with tickets on the affected flights will be provided a full refund.
