It appears that the City of Wenatchee didn't lose much business when the valley was shrouded in wildfire smoke in September. Mayor Frank Kuntz says the City sales tax revenues didn't suffer.
The Mayor attributes the increase to purchases made by the thousands of firefighters who made Wenatchee their temporary home during the wildfires.
The City now awaits the sales tax numbers for October. Those numbers could be lower after the cancellation of a major hockey tournament that would have brought thousands of people to the valley
