A Chelan County PUD crew will remove one or two hazardous trees in Wenatchee's Riverfront Park next week. PUD officials say the unhealthy maple trees are located right along the Apple Capital Loop Trail. Trail users will need to make a slight detour Wednesday and Thursday around the area at the foot of Fifth Street. Arborists recently told the PUD those trees have cracks in the trunks and limbs. It's possible one of the trees may stay if crews decide that pruning is enough to make the tree safe.
