The Apple Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross opened a shelter at Icicle Middle School in Leavenworth to help those affected by the extensive power outages in the Lake Wenatchee, Plain and Coles Corners areas.
The shelter will remain open until Red Cross and Emergency Management staff deem it safe to close.
Anyone evacuating to a Red Cross Shelter should bring prescription medications, dietary foods for unique needs and extra comfort items like pillows, blankets and towels.
