Wenatchee's Westside High School will receive new and improved lighting, heating, ventilation and cooling systems thanks to a large state grant. Wenatchee was one of 21 school districts state-wide to receive the grants, which will pay for energy efficiency improvements. Brian Visscher, (visher) the District's Director of Facilities says the $810,000 grant will pay for the bulk of the project, estimated to cost one point two million dollars. Work on revamping the old Eagles Building is set to start in February with students moving into the new alternative High School next September. The Brewster School District also receive an Energy Efficiency Grant, one million dollars, to replace their old HVAC systems and do other energy efficiency work.
