A Stage 1 burn ban has been called in Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties due to forecasted cold temperatures and calm winds causing air pollution to increase, according to the Washington Department of Ecology. The ban on outdoor fires and burning in uncertified woodstoves or fireplaces will continue until 10 a.m. on Christmas Day, unless extended.
