01/02/13 Chelan County Officials Sworn In to Office (AUDIO)



Newly elected Superior Court Judge Alisha Nakata dawns her new robe for the first time today. She replaces John Bridges who completed his term after working a full court calendar on Monday. Steve Hair was there and filed this report . 

Nakata was sworn into office by her predecessor Monday morning and afterwards said she was ready to hit the ground running. Nakata says she holds Judge Bridges in high regard and she complimented the way he ruled from the bench. Nakata will be replaced on the District Court Bench by Roy Fore. The former deputy prosecutor was appointed to the position and he was also sworn in along with the newly elected officials Monday morning. Joining Fore and Nakata at Monday's swearing in ceremony were superior court judges Chip Small and Leslie Allen who won reelection after running unopposed in the November election. Also taking their oaths of office were Chelan County Commissioners Ron Walter and Doug England, and Assessor, Deanna Walter.
