A powerful windstorm knocked out electricity to dozens homes last night in the Wenatchee area. The area affected extended from Castlerock to Fifth street and from Western avenue to Miller Street. Chelan County PUD officials estimated that power was expected to be restored by 3 this (Tue) morning. RiverCom emergency dispatchers received reports of gusts measuring 80 miles an hour in the Wenatchee Heights area. Area residents may recall that it was January 7th 2007 when a major windstorm toppled hundreds of trees in the Wenatchee area with 100 mile an hour gusts.
